Introduction 

The purpose of this post is to give an honest review of a new company called Handpicked CBD. While carrying out this review I have extensively researched the company, thoroughly read the information on their website, examined the lab reports for each product, tested the ordering process, and sampled one of the CBD products on offer. 

The following is my honest opinion based on my findings.

First up, a little introduction to Handpicked CBD.

When George, the founder of Handpicked CBD, searched the CBD market to source products for himself and his family, he discovered a minefield of misinformation and unscrupulous sellers. He discovered it was very hard to plough through the mass of sellers to find reputable companies, selling high quality CBD products. 

This was his reason behind setting up Handpicked CBD, and has been the main focus of the business from day one. He wanted to offer a wide selection of high quality CBD products, from reputable suppliers, all on one trusted platform.

Products and Brands sold by Handpicked CBD 

Handpicked CBD offers an impressive range of CBD products from a wide selection of brands. Some brands are big players in the CBD industry, others are lesser known. I have looked into each brand and studied the lab reports for their products, and they all appear to offer high quality CBD ranges. 

Products available include: CBD oils, capsules, vapes, edibles, beverages and topicals. 

Brands include: Love Hemp, Provacan, Reakiro, George Botanicals, Mr Nice, Pure Sport, Cannaseurs UK, Beliebis UK, Ease, Arima, Cubid CBD, Grass & Co, Phytocan CBD, Applied Nutrition, Nooro, Audrey & Bloom, and Re+ CBD. 

Website – ease of use and quality of information 

Handpicked CBD also have an educational section on their website with straightforward, easy to follow information about CBD. 

The website is easy to navigate with clear information. Products are split into categories so they are easy to find. Product descriptions are thorough, with all the information you need to make an informed choice about the CBD product you want. 

Lab reports 

I would like to highlight the fact that Handpicked CBD publish third-party lab reports on their website for all the products they sell. A third-party CBD lab report provides unbiased verification of what’s actually in the product you’re buying, and is therefore extremely important in an unregulated market. Lab reports mean you can confirm the safety and potency of a product, but also match your needs to the individual CBD product, before purchasing. 

Placing your order 

Placing an order is relatively easy. Just place the items you wish to order in your basket and go to checkout. 

You will then be asked to select your choice of delivery method. Most items are sent directly from the supplier and a small delivery charge is applied. The cost of delivery is dependent on the brand you buy. I have to admit, initially I was a little confused by this, but once you understand the process, it makes sense. This is generally known as ‘Dropshipping’ and is quite common, let me explain this further.

Delivery Options and cost

Currently all products sold by Handpicked CBD, with the exception of Provacan are sent directly from the supplier, not Handpicked CBD. 

Dropshipping is a supply chain management method in which the retailer does not keep goods in stock but instead transfers the customer orders and shipment details to either the manufacturer, another retailer, or wholesaler, who then ships the goods directly to the customer. 

In simple terms, this is how dropshipping works:

  • You, the customer, place an order for a product on the retailer’s online store
  • The retailer forwards the order and customer details to the dropship supplier
  • The dropship supplier packages and ships the order directly to you the customer in the retailer’s name

So, you place your order through Handpicked CBD but your products will be sent directly from the supplier, with the exception of Provacan products. 

Although dropshipping is a common method used, it can lead to a bit of confusion if you buy different brand’s products within the same order. If you do, you will get more than one package, potentially on different days, and the cost of delivery may vary too. It’s possible that you will be charged twice for delivery if ordering two different brand’s products. The delivery charges are very reasonable, and often a free delivery option is available, but please be aware of this when you checkout. 

Handpicked CBD very clearly states the delivery charges payable from each supplier when you go to the checkout. To give you a bit of an idea of the UK delivery costs:

  • Most suppliers have a standard delivery option that is £1- £3 (or free)
  • Signed for/tracked/next day options are available, approx £6 – £8
  • Most suppliers also offer free shipping (standard) on orders above £50

Handpicked CBD are currently reviewing their delivery setup, looking for ways to simplify the process and cost. 

Completing your order – payment

Delivery and packaging 

My order was delivered in a sturdy cardboard box. I opted for standard delivery, so the order wasn’t tracked or sign for, but it was prompt and arrived undamaged.

Customer service 

Live chat is available on the website if you have any queries. Handpicked CBD were happy to answer all of my questions, and the whole process was very straightforward. 

Review of Provacan 6% CBD oil

Along with reviewing the company itself, I was given the opportunity to try one of the CBD products they sell. I chose the Provacan 6% CBD oil. 

I have seen a lot of good reviews of Provacan CBD oils over the past few months, but this is the first time I have tried one of their products myself. Their CBD oils are full spectrum, as you would expect from a high quality oil, so they contain a range of cannabinoids and terpenes, not just CBD. 

The Provacan 6% CBD oil is a refined, “Golden” oil. It has the hempy taste you would expect, but it’s not too strong. The bottle was sturdy, and good quality, so no leaks. The glass bottle was also amber tinted to protect the oil from damage from sunlight. The Lab report shows a good selection of other cannabinoids. 

I normally take a 10% CBD oil, so I adjusted my dose accordingly. I was pleased with the results from the Provacan oil – it was as effective as any other CBD oil I have tried.

Final thoughts

However, I did find the delivery charges a little confusing, and if you were to order a few products from different brands, the costs could grow. I have spoken to the owner of Handpicked CBD and they are working on a way to simplify this process, and reduce the cost.

I found the website easy to navigate, and the information given was clear and free from unnecessary jargon. Customer service was excellent, and delivery times as advertised. 

I have spoken a lot about the importance of lab reports on my blog, so I was particularly pleased to see that Handpicked CBD publish third-party labs on their website for all the CBD products they sell. 

The CBD oil I tested is high quality, and effective for my needs. Provacan is a brand I would be happy to recommend, and I will definitely be using them in the future.
