I’m sure you have all heard of CBD by now, it’s everywhere you turn. But did you know that CBD isn’t the only cannabis compound with wellness benefits?
The cannabis plant is made up of over 400 compounds, with around 100 of these in a class called ‘cannabinoids’. CBD and THC are probably the most well known cannabinoids, but they are not the only ones to be researched for their beneficial properties.
For the purposes of this post, I will be concentrating on a cannabinoid called Cannabigerol, or CBG. I have been taking this particular natural compound, alongside CBD, for about two years now, and I believe it has as much potential as it’s more well known cousins.
Unfortunately, although CBG products have been around for a couple of years, there’s still only a very limited choice on the market. But recently, I was lucky enough to be sent a full spectrum CBG and CBD oil to test, by a company called For The Ageless.
The following post is my honest review of this product, along with another product I was also gifted; an organic hemp tea made by Biopurus UK.
First up, I would like to introduce you to CBG.
What is CBG?
As I have mentioned, CBG is a cannabinoid. Cannabinoids are a diverse class of chemical compounds that occur naturally in the human body and also in some plants, most notably, cannabis. These cannabinoids interact with receptors within our bodies own endocannabinoid system (ECS) to trigger various physiological actions. The ECS plays an essential role within the body, and cannabinoids are vital for the ECS to function effectively.
Each cannabinoid has a slightly different makeup and slightly different effects. While THC causes psychoactive and intoxicating effects, CBD and CBG show potential in boosting health, without the ‘high’. So, CBG, like CBD, won’t get you high, and is safe for all ages to take.

Biopurus UK 500mg CBG & CBD oil
I was given the opportunity to test Biopurus UK CBG & CBD oil which is available at For The Ageless. It contains 500mg (5%) of CBG and 500mg (5%) of CBD in a 10ml bottle.
Lab reports
Biopurus UK is a relatively new manufacturer of organic, high-quality hemp products, and organic CBD oils. I hadn’t tried any of their products before, so this was my introduction to this particular producer.
I would first like to say that For The Ageless display lab reports on their website for the products they sell. I have discussed in previous posts why this is important. Please insist on seeing a lab report before buying any CBD or hemp-derived products. Unfortunately not all products are equal, and not all sellers are reputable.
High quality, full spectrum CBG & CBD oil
From the lab report I can see that this is a good quality full spectrum oil. Along with CBG and CBD, it also contains a number of other beneficial cannabinoids including; CBDA, CBC and CBDV. If you would like to learn more about the main cannabinoids found in cannabis, please click here.
The combination of CBD, CBG and other cannabinoids and terpenes, makes this product unique. It is made using Supercritical CO2 extraction method which allows for extraction without the use of harsh chemicals, and means all the cannabis compounds are retained in the end product.
Secure packaging & 1st class tracked delivery
Delivery was prompt – within 24 hours. My order was tracked, with a signature required on delivery. This insured the oil reached me safely, and I was able to track the progress of the delivery.

The bottle is a standard pipette design, and my order came in a sturdy box with recyclable packaging.
Hempy taste
I’m not going to lie, this oil has a strong taste. But for me that’s actually reassuring – it shows the oil contains a lot of hempy goodness. I know some people struggle with the taste of some hemp-derived oils, but the benefits are worth it. If you do struggle with the taste, try brushing your teeth before taking the oil – it helps mask the taste. Or why not pop a mint in your mouth.
Consistency
The consistency of this oil is a lot thicker than any CBD oils I have tried. At first I was unable to get enough into the pipette to squeeze onto my tongue. And because the oil is so thick it clung to the outside of the pipette, which caused some mess. But I held the bottle in the palm of my hands for a couple of minutes, and this warmth was enough to thin the liquid.
If you have the same problem, my advice would be to shake the bottle well before use, and keep it at room temperature. You could also add a small amount of hemp seed oil to the bottle to thin it.
Price & Dose
I have to mention the price at this point. CBG is more expensive than CBD because it occurs in much lower levels in the cannabis plant. This means it takes more plant to make the same amount of product. Having said this, Biopurus UK CBG oil is comparable in price to others I have seen on the market.
Although the price is high, a little goes a long way. This Biopurus CBG and CBD oil contains approx 2mg of each of these cannabinoids per drop. I personally found 1-2 drops, 3 times a day was enough for my particular health needs. Each 10ml bottle contains approximately 250 drops.
Because this oil combines both CBG and CBD, there’s no need to buy separate products, which is what I have been doing for the past 2 years – this alone reduces the cost.
Effectiveness
I found this product to be potent and effective, and particularly relaxing when taken before bed. I was really impressed with the quality, and it was as effective for my symptoms as any CBD product I have tried.
Because it contains an abundance of cannabis compounds, not just CBD, the benefits are multiplied by what is commonly called the entourage effect.
I would be happy to recommend Biopurus UK CBG & CBD oil to anyone looking to experiment with a good quality CBG product.
Biopurus UK Hemp CBD Tea Bags
Now, onto the Biopurus UK hemp tea, which I was also sent to try by For The Ageless. You can’t really go wrong with a good quality hemp CBD tea.
I find hemp tea calming, relaxing, and refreshing, and I particularly enjoy it in the evenings as a way to wind down.
These Biopurus UK hemp CBD tea bags from For The Ageless contain 1.6% CBD, made using organic hemp. They are also high in CBDa, and contain other cannabinoids and terpenes.
I have tried many hemp teas, and some are quite harsh and bitter – they can be an acquired taste. But the Biopurus UK hemp tea bags have a pleasant, mellow taste.

The Biopurus CBG and CBD oil is the first full spectrum CBG product I have tried, and I wasn’t disappointed. I found this product to be potent and effective, and particularly relaxing when taken before bed.
The cost does need to be considered, but I feel the quality of this oil is worth every penny.

Like you, I’ve been taking both separately and I also find CBG helpful especially in the evening to help with sleep. So I’m quite keen to try this instead -sounds very promising.
